NEW YORK, NEW YORK – Roberta Kelly, NP, Sun River Health Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President of NYC Division Operations, received the 2021 Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS) Dr. Jack Geiger Awardee at a virtual celebration on Friday, March 12.
“Roberta's selfless leadership of Sun River Health's nursing staff during the COVID-19 pandemic has been nothing short of extraordinary,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, Sun River Health Chief Executive Officer. “Like Dr. Jack Geiger, who devoted his life’s work to ensuring health care for the most vulnerable, Ms. Kelly has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment, and is being recognized by her peers for her extraordinary work during this pandemic, including personally delivering care to individuals who are homeless and in quarantine.”
Ms. Kelly oversees nursing at Sun River Health as well as transitions of care and operations of the organization’s New York City Division. She has participated in growth and strategic planning for the organization, including the development of integrated health care services and health information technology enhancements.
Ms. Kelly received her award during the CHCANYS Advocacy Week Program: Honoring Our Heroes Event on Friday, March 12. This program was part of CHCANYS’ week-long advocacy activities, bringing together health center leaders, patients, and staff to convey to State legislators the critically important role of our statewide health centers in reducing health disparities and underscoring the need for continuing and urgent support of their work to battle COVID-19.
