Social Worker

Sonia Portugal, LMSW is a social worker at Sun River Health. A graduate of New York University, she went on to complete an internship at the International Center for the Disabled Mental Health Clinic in East Harlem, New York City. Prior to joining Sun River Health, she served patients at the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health in New York City. Ms. Portugal is licensed to practice as an LMSW in the State of New York. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Sun River Health behavioral / mental health specialists, including licensed social workers, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and primary care providers, work with our patients to make sure that every part of their health is taken care of. Our care team gets to know our patients’ individual health needs, learn about their health history, keeps track of any medications they are taking, and works with them to create a personal care plan.
