Did you know Sun River Health is the largest provider of OB services and births of all the FQHCs in New York State? Our teams welcome over 3,500 babies into the world each year and our family planning program, funded by New York State, serves more than 20,000 family planning patients annually in health centers across the Sun River Health system.
The Women’s Health team, including physicians, midwives, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, clinical assistants, patient navigators, social workers, and nutritionist work together to ensure our moms are healthy, educated, and prepared to deliver their babies at our partner birth hospitals.
Sun River Health developed a warm and welcoming suite of items for our new moms after birth. An important piece of this collateral is the Developmental Milestones material, available in English and Spanish, which is designed to support clinicians’ conversations with women who are expecting and begin conversations about the need for clinical support after the child is born, and throughout early childhood.
At Sun River Health’s Cornucopia gala last November, we did a special appeal to raise money for Women’s Health and thanks to donations from guests that that event, we were able to purchase and give out 400 gift baskets to new moms in the last year in addition to supporting our larger Women’s Health programs! We are grateful for donor support for these initiatives, which help new moms feel more confident in caring for their new babies.
