PEEKSKILL, NEW YORK – Sun River Health (formerly Hudson River HealthCare and Brightpoint Health) is pleased to announce Amanda Falick Ascher, MD will be its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Ascher served most recently as the CMO of Bronx Partners for Healthy Communities, a coalition led by SBH Health System to respond to DSRIP – New York State’s waiver to transform care delivery to Medicaid recipients and the uninsured to decrease unnecessary hospital use.

I am confident that is our best choice to provide excellent clinical leadership and ensure the highest quality patient care.”
In her previous position at Bronx Partners for Healthy Communities, Dr. Ascher played a vital role in designing physician incentives and preparing partners for value-based purchasing readiness while focusing on improving health outcomes. Prior to that, Dr. Ascher was the Medical Director at Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center, part of Gotham Health, the FQHC of New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation.

Dr. Ascher was a Clinical Quality Fellow with GNYHA from 2010 to 2011 and has since served as Fellowship mentor and faculty. Prior to 2009, she was the Medical Director at the Washington Heights Family Health Center of New York Presbyterian.
She has volunteered and served overseas in several clinical capacities, including work in Mali (West Africa), El Salvador, and Belize. She was also the co-founder and CMO at Sana solutions LLC, a consulting firm that helps health care organizations optimize their care in value-based payment systems. She also served as Associate Professor of Medicine at CUNY School of Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Ascher obtained her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine internship and residency at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Columbia College.
