Anyone who has sex or genital skin-to-skin contact with another person is at risk of getting a sexually transmitted infection (STI), also known as sexually transmitted disease (STD). STIs often don’t have any symptoms, so the only way to know for sure if you or your sexual partner has an STI is to get tested. STI tests are usually quick, easy, and painless, and most STIs can be treated with a simple medication.

Sun River Health offers STI testing and treatment to all our patients, and our non-judgmental staff can provide you the best information and resources for STI prevention. If you are sexually active, we recommend you get tested annually. If you start to show any symptoms of an STI, or if you change
sexual partners, we also recommend you come in for a test.

Some of the STIs we can test for and treat include:

  • Chlamydia
  • Genital warts
  • Gonorrhea
  • HIV
  • Hepatitis A, B, and C
  • Herpes
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis

PrEP is a once-a-day pill that reduces your risk of getting HIV by up to 99%. Our team can provide information about PrEP and work with you to find the lowest cost option that is available to you.

To get started with PrEP through Sun River Health, answer a few simple questions on a short form and submit your information to our PrEP team to review. To fill out and submit the PrEP form, click here.

After we receive your information, a member of our PrEP team will give you a call to discuss if PrEP is right for you and help you make an appointment at one of our health centers.

If you’re the parent or guardian of a teen, you can accompany them to an appointment, or they can come in by themselves. We are here to make sure your teen gets all the information they need to stay safe and in the best health.
