Mary is a patient at the Brentwood Health Center who is 32 weeks pregnant and currently under the care of Dr. Quratulain Zeeshan. This is Mary’s third pregnancy, and she is high-risk due to Type 2 Diabetes that developed after the birth of her daughter two years ago. During her previous pregnancy, Mary had gestational diabetes and developed preeclampsia, which posed a risk both to her and to her daughter. Mary came to Sun River health at 26 weeks pregnant having not been under the regular care of an OB due to issues with her insurance. Sun River Health provided Mary with diabetes medication and connected her to a dietician who helped her develop a nutrition plan that assisted in stabilizing her blood sugar levels.
