Daniela came here from Guatemala in August, and was already 37 weeks pregnant when she came to Sun River Health. She experienced a delay in care due to a lack of insurance and limited access to healthy food options left her unable to effectively control her blood sugar levels. Daniela could not afford a glucometer to help manage her gestational diabetes and needed to be connected to resources to ensure her health.
Daniela tells us that she was pleased that her doctors let her stay with Gerald, her third baby, delivered pre-term via c-section, while he was in the ICU and credits the care of her doctors with her health and that of her son. Thanks to Sun River Health, Daniela was able to control her condition with the use of insulin and tracking of her levels. She was also impressed by the level of communication between members of her care team and the high-risk doctor she saw due to her medical complications.
“They treated me with respect and took charge of my case. I understand that it was a bit complicated because my pregnancy was advanced and I had Gestational diabetes, but they did the best they could do as soon as i came to them for care and thanks to Sun River Health I’m now here with my baby.”
