Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

Katherine Bishop, CNM, MS graduated from SUNY Stony Brook in Stony Brook, NY with a Masters Degree in Nursing with a Major Course of Study in Midwifery. While there, she was the recipient of the New York State Primary Care Scholarship Award. Prior to her graduate degree, Katherine completed her AAS in Nursing from Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Ms. Bishop started her career in the health care field at the Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT as a Registered Nurse, a Medical-Surgical Nurse, a Maternity Nurse, and a Nurse Midwife before she came to Poughkeepsie, NY and began providing prenatal and postpartum care at the OB/GYN Center at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the Midwives’ Alliance of North America, and the International Lactation Consultants’ Association. She is licensed in the State of New York as a Certified Nurse Midwife. She has privileges at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
